Life can change in an instant. Just a couple months ago, our family received the devastating news that my brother has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cancer, with the cancer having been found in his lungs, sternum, grapefruit sized mass on his kidney as well as one in his lower spine. The doctors gave him only 1–2 years to live.
His Partner of 18 years bails.
As if that battle wasn’t already unbearable, tragedy struck again. The woman he loved and stood by for 18 years—supporting her through her struggles and triumphs, including her journey of losing over 100 pounds—walked away from him in his darkest hour. Not only did she leave, but she betrayed him with someone who had just recently entered their life. Imagine being told you are facing the biggest fight of your life… only to have the person you trusted most walk out the door.

Our family, friends, and community are standing strong behind him. We will carry him with love, hope, and strength through the time he has left. While the doctors say this fight may be futile, we believe love, laughter, and support can make every moment brighter—and that is what we are determined to give him. That’s why we are hosting a fundraiser event with a theme that captures both the pain and the fight:

Our Goal
Our goal is to help my brother live a comfortable stress free life for the reaminder of time he has left. When battling cancer the last thing a person needs is to worry about bills and wondering how he’s going to pay for his funeral and not wanting to leave a financial burden to his loved ones, His ex assured him she would help with everything from his care to his final expenses but unfortunately she ended up bailing on him. We will not fail him, I his brother can not fail him. I don’t want my brother to spend his remaining time worrying about what we will do with the financial burden he may leave behind. He’s always had my back and it’s time I have his.
